For all devices
- Find your list of wifi connections.
- Select Samuel Merritt Wireless.
- Sign in with your SMU username (not full email address).
- For some devices such as a phone or tablet you may get a prompt with a Trust button in the upper right. Click "Trust" and ok.
- If you are having trouble connecting, first try resetting your SMU password. See this help article to do that: Self Service Password Reset

Step 1: At the bottom right corner of the task bar, click the up arrow and select network connections
Step 2:
In the available network select “Samuel Merritt Wireless” and click connect. Please choose to connect automatically and this will auto connect to this wireless network when available.
Step 3: Click Connect at this prompt and enter SMU Username and Password and click OK to connect. You may need to put Samuelmerritt\<username> in the username field.
For Chrome Book
Connect to Samuel Merritt Wireless and enter the following:
EAP method: PEAP
Phase 2 authentication: Automatic
Server CA certificate: Default
Subject Match: (Empty)
Alternate Subject Match: (Empty)
Domain: Samuelmerritt.edu
Identity: YourUsername
Password: (Enter your password)
Make sure “Save identity and password” is checked. Press Connect
