How to Access iContracts via VDI

Section I: Accessing iContracts

 

  1. Please follow this on-line mySMU VDI QuickStart Guide to log into VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure):

2. Once in VDI, point your web browser (from within VDI) to this URL: https://mysmu.samuelmerritt.edu.

Enter your SMU credentials and click Sign in.

                Please note that the VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) environment resembles a typical Windows PC desktop, hence Virtual Desktop.

​​​​​​​3. From the mySMU page, open iContracts to log into the iContracts portal.

 

4. You have successfully logged in!

 

Section II: File Transfers

Optionally, to facilitate file transfers between your computer locally and the VDI environment, one can use Microsoft OneDrive.

As you can see below, to enable file transfers between your local computer and VDI, one would need to have OneDrive on both the local computer and VDI.

 

Part A: To access OneDrive on local computer

  1. While you have logged into mySMU as detailed in Step 1 Section I above, open Webmail.

 

 

2. Click the waffle icon on the upper-left corner.

 

3. Under the Apps section, click OneDrive.

If you do not see OneDrive, click All apps to expand the list and enter “onedrive” (not case sensitive, no spaces, without quotes) in the Search all of your apps field near the top.

 

 

Part B: To access OneDrive on VDI

From within VDI, repeat all steps as detailed in “Part A: To access OneDrive on local computer” above.

 

Part C: To transfer files

1.To transfer files from local computer to VDI, use the workflow below:

Local computer -->OneDrive on local computer -->OneDrive on VDI (refresh screen to see updates) -->VDI

 

2. To transfer files from VDI to local computer, use the workflow below:

VDI --> OneDrive on VDI --> OneDrive on local computer (refresh screen to see updates) --> local computer
